ECHO Magazine is a keystone workshop class at Columbia College Chicago where professors hand selected design and journalism students to work together to create and print around 12,000 magazines every year. When creating the Life Issue it was apparent to educate and empower unheard voices of Chicago who share universal suffering. By recognizing struggles in this world, one can perceive and shift life in new ways.

ECHO Magazine’s Life Issue 2020 was recognized by design competitions and won:

  • Columbia University Scholastic Press Association’s Crown Awards: Gold Crown Award

  • Graphis Awards New Talent: Silver Award

  • CQ Journal: International Award

  • Indigo Awards: International Award
